The Blurb: He never noticed her before, but now she’s all he can see…
Miles Carlisle is every teen
girl’s fantasy. His rugged good looks and exotic British accent have helped
catapult his boy band, Seconds to Juliet, to super-stardom. But after two
disastrous and very public breakups, Miles isn't interested in dating just any girl; he wants The One. And the only girl he’s interested in is not only his
best friend’s little sister―and off-limits―but won’t even give him the time of
day…
As a kid, Aimee Bingham had a
huge thing for Miles…until he made fun of her for always tagging along. Now
that she’s outgrown both him and her pigtails. The prospect of spending two
weeks on tour with the childhood crush who broke her heart isn't exactly enticing. Except now Miles seems interested. Very interested. And no matter how hard
Aimee tries to resist him, her crush is definitely making a comeback.
But everyone knows that
falling for a heartthrob is a backstage pass to heartbreak
Note: Received this in exchange for honest review.
The
Dish: Aimee thought she would be spending her spring break with her best friend
until the plans changed and she had to spend her weeks on tour with seconds to Juliet,
normally this would be a good idea but Aimee has just gotten over her lifelong
crush on one of the band members miles Carlisle, who is incidentally a family
friend and her brother’s best friend. For two years she has done everything to
forget he existed, stopped following news of him and his band and stopped
blogging about the fantasy of him, and thanks to her brother she knows miles just thinks of her a little sister.
When
Miles sees her after many years a part she’s not what he’s expecting ( their
first encounter is funny, he thought she was just some groupie) she’s grown up
and looking beautiful, he can’t stop thinking about her even though she’s off
limits(a promise he made to her brother) and she seems to hate him, Circumstances brings them together too many times and before they know it they
are spending time together and falling for each other fast (for Aimee the
feelings never left)
“When he began to play again, then sing those first few words, Aimee felt a flutter in her stomach she wasn't able to squelch. She wasn't a robot, after all. And it wasn't so bizarre to get a little fluttery over a boy as talented and hot as Miles Carlisle. Millions of girls suffered the same ailment. But how many girls stood backstage, close enough that he’d accidentally felt her up in the dark? And how many of those girls had already had their heart broken by him?” “If he couldn't think of anything on his own, he could quote lines from his favorite Prince Song, tell her how his stomach trembled, that she had his butterflies all tied up.But he just kissed her.He might keep kissing her forever, not thinking about the consequences or meaning behind anything. She tasted so good and felt so warm, she filled his head to the brink, and when she shifted closer, his brain emptied, and he went spiraling” “I don’t know if I’d call it a crush,” he finally said. “It’s more like, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you for the past five days. When I’m in a band meeting…” He kissed her eyebrow. “When I’m onstage.” He kissed the bridge of her nose. “When I’m trying to bloody fall asleep at night, that’s the worst. And the best.”
Miles
Carlisle-he’s been with girls before but they all end up using him for his fame
and breaking his heart. He’s had a hard past, and a bad temper but he’s getting
all the help he can and being in the band changed him for good. He still has
trust issues (an issue which almost made him lose Aimee
His
dream date: a girl who’ll let him wine and dine her.
Turn
on’s: genuine smiles and pony tails
This
book was so cute and I loved it! I loved getting a backstage pass to the life
of a band ,the only thing I didn't like was some of the phrases Aimee used and
that at times they seemed older than younger than they really were.

Even tho it doesn't seem like this is the kind of book you give 5 stars to, I think it's good to have it on my TBR list cause sometimes you just need a light read, something to read after a heavy book so I think I'm definitely going to keep this one in mind! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah like i thought it would be something way different, it was tres cute but the voices were way younger than young adult.
