It's Time For My Waiting on Wednesday; A weekly meme created by Breaking the Spine

Introducing Truthwitch By Susan Dennard:

On a continent ruled by three empires, some are born with a “witchery,” a magical skill that sets them apart from others.

In the Witchlands, there are almost as many types of magic as there are ways to get in trouble—as two desperate young women know all too well.
Safiya is a Truthwitch, able to discern truth from lie. It’s a powerful magic that many would kill to have on their side, especially amongst the nobility to which Safi was born. So Safi must keep her gift hidden, lest she be used as a pawn in the struggle between empires.

Iseult, a Threadwitch, can see the invisible ties that bind and entangle the lives around her—but she cannot see the bonds that touch her own heart. Her unlikely friendship with Safi has taken her from life as an outcast into one of of reckless adventure, where she is a cool, wary balance to Safi’s hotheaded impulsiveness.
Safi and Iseult just want to be free to live their own lives, but war is coming to the Witchlands. With the help of the cunning Prince Merik (a Windwitch and ship’s captain) and the hindrance of a Bloodwitch bent on revenge, the friends must fight emperors, princes, and mercenaries alike, who will stop at nothing to get their hands on a Truthwitch

Free Copy for an Honest Review
I Loved and Hated this book, so many times i was calling the lead girl(Tori) stupid and wanting to smack her but still i enjoyed this. I Guess i can relate on her self doubt and not thinking she was attractive, but it's how she let people take advantage of it. And funny thing is that she was the only one who thought she wasn't wanted and because of that she drew herself in and became a wallflower so of course she wasn't noticed, which led to her being desperate for any male attention which made her naive. lol i feel like i'm rambling but god there was one scene where i was fuming at her and the boy, *kyle* he was her brother's friend who she basically grew up with and one night he got drunk and took advantage of her ( not in that way) and what pissed me off was hat she let him and she didn't think it was a big deal. In a way yes i can relate and on the other hand she was so damn annoying .

The romance for me was meh at most, i loved grant and hated him. Because he did the one thing i hate in books and real life, he made a choice for her. It was like new moon all over again (lol yes), leaving because he thought it was the right choice. and let me say i understood where he was coming from, she was naive she may not have been ready for a relationship but still he had no right to decide that for her.

Her decisions were stupid but they were her's and i can respect that, she learned from them. Girls/women changing themselves to fit in or so that a guy will like them better, i don't like it because if you weren't enough for them then, he doesn't deserve you but it's your choice.

Overall 4 stars, i didn't hate hate it but i didn't love it

And lastly i'll share an excerpt with you!

A girl moves in front of me—not the Hurley girl, not the one I was hoping for. She presses closer, so close I can almost taste the salty perspiration on her skin. She has thin, birdlike shoulders, a swan neck, a heart-shaped face, and black hair, long and tangled, turning blue and green with the light. Her hands slide up my chest. She wraps her arms around my neck and tilts her head to look up at me.
Her lips are full and painted dark purple. There’s a dimple in her left cheek that gets deeper with her growing smile. And her eyes . . .
Fog fills my head for a second, interrupting my thoughts.
“Hi,” she mouths, calling attention to her lips again.
And then she’s rising up on her toes, pulling me down to her, twisting her fingers in my hair, her lips smashing against mine.
My body buzzes from her touch, and my hands react, drawing her into me. I drink her in. She tastes like the air around me, hunger and urgency, and—
Green apple Jolly Ranchers?
I grip her sides, her ribs so delicate beneath my fingers. The sweet tang of her teases me, the hunger becoming a monster deep inside. I have to press her closer, tighter, try to feed it, as I feel the fire of her need link with mine.
She pulls back a little and looks at me with wide eyes, like she’s shocked. That’s when I see the mark, a glowing, blue-inked line of what looks like Chinese symbols, trailing down the nape of her neck to her shoulder blade. Symbols that I’m suddenly sure meantouch this girl at your own risk.
It’s the only thing I see for a second: Beware. Beware.
Until her energy reaches for me, wispy tendrils of blue light wrapping their way around my wrists and snaking up my chest.
I jerk away, into the guy behind me, stepping on his girlfriend’s toes. I get shoved— thankfully farther from the hypnotic girl—through a space in the crowd, saying a hundred excuse-me’s even though I know no one can hear them. I find my way out of the press of bodies to the edge of the room again where it’s safe.
It’s time to leave. I should’ve left an hour ago.

Since Drew Review

Title: Since Drew
Author:  J.Nathan
Genre:  New Adult, Romance, sports, College romance
Publication Date: April 23, 2015
Publisher: J.Nathan

The Blurb: All Andi Parker has ever wanted, all she’s ever dreamed of, is a spot on the Olympic track team. But when an accident leaves her hospitalized with serious injuries and shattered dreams, she’s not only uncertain what her future holds but also completely alone.

Drew Slater is a wanted man. Professional football teams want him for his arm. Women want him for his good looks and magnetic personality. But the well-crafted disguise he wears, the one that helps him score on and off the field, hides secrets. Conceals lies. Threatens the happiness of everyone around him.

One chance encounter brings Andi and Drew together, changing their worlds in ways they never thought possible. Unfortunately, what they thought they knew about themselves—and about each other—might just be the biggest lie of all.

The Dish:  Andi parker is a runner training for the Olympics when one night she is the victim of an accident injuring both her and the driver. She wakes up in the hospital and meets her roommate drew a sexy mysterious guy who she thinks has cancer, they quickly form a friendship which turns into something more.
Only it’s not as it seems when she’s sent a therapist who has her questioning her mental state and Andi soon learns that she couldn't have met drew at all because he has been in a coma all along, her diagnosis is cerebral edema caused from the accident. When drew wakes from the coma he doesn’t seem to remember their connection and he seems to hate her.
Things escalate from there and we learn so much more while watching Andi and drew become closer and feelings change until we learn the secrets behind drew.

“I’ve learned two invaluable lessons over the past four years. First, without strife, there’d be no push to preserve. And without perseverance, there’d be no joy in success. And second sometimes, if you dream big enough, all your dreams really do come true”

“You do know all that sugar isn’t good for you, right?”
“Fuck that “
“My girl likes gummy worms. We eat gummy worms”

“Off sides” his big strong hands gripped my sides, his fingers digging in as they slid from my bra all the way down to my hips. “First and ten.” His fingers moved to the elastic on each leg of my underwear, tracing them down slowly.
“Maybe a quarterback sneak” his middle finger slipped underneath my underwear and inside the wet folds he’d created

Note: I was given a copy of this eBook for an honest review; I was so excited to read this because of the summary and the cover is so HNGGG.    This is a story about second chances and learning to forgive and be forgiven, also never letting your dreams go without a fight. I was sucked in from the first chapter and couldn’t put this book down, I was so glad because the past two books had me feeling meh and this changed it all around. It had me laughing, sighing, gasping, and it gave me many butterflies.
I loved Andi and her feisty character and her act of being loyal to those close to her even though she doesn't have many friends and I freaking love her determination to continue her dreams and NEVER GIVE UP. Drew is now one of my book boyfriends, I hated that he didn’t tell Andi sooner and how he was a jerk but I know why and how hard it is to face up to something that hurts you both. His determination to win Andi back is so swoony worthy and I’m glad his need for forgiveness and her ability to forgive allowed them their happy ending.

Review - One Night

Title: One Night
Author: A.J Pine
Genre: New Adult,Romance,Sports

Publication Date:  April 21

The Blurb: When she lost it all, Jess decided to cope by living a lie.

But you can’t keep on pretending forever…

Twenty-one-year-old Jess used to have everything—a loyal best friend, a boyfriend she loved, and a future that was right on track. But in a single night, her whole world changed.

Now, Jess lives for the impersonal connection of drunken hook-ups and to-go coffee cups in the morning. All she needs is one night to pretend everything is fine…until she meets Adam.

Thanks to a sports injury, gorgeous, charming basketball star Adam Carson is stuck in physical therapy at the hospital where Jess interns—giving her the perfect opportunity to see his sweet, considerate nature and making her realize that maybe she does want something more.

But while Adam might be the best thing that’s happened to Jess in a long time, letting him past her carefully constructed walls means letting him know what happened...and why he'd never want her for more than one night.

The Dish: Free Copy in Exchange for Review. I Don’t know if I’m more disappointed in myself or the book, I think I built this up in my head and it fell flat. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with the story or characters at all, I just didn't enjoy it like I thought I would. Maybe because I finished a book that was everything and it didn't compare, anyway I was hooked from the beginning. Plot and cover sealed that deal and first chapter I enjoyed it. I Liked Jess but I felt the connection between her and Adam happened too fast, more importantly I didn't connect with them at all.

But Adelina is no heroine. Her powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, Raffaele and the Dagger Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Aimee and the Heartthrob

Title: Aimee and the Heartthrob
Author: Ophelia London
Genre: Young Adult, Romance
Publisher: Entangled Publishing

Publication Date: April 14, 2015
The Blurb: He never noticed her before, but now she’s all he can see…

Miles Carlisle is every teen girl’s fantasy. His rugged good looks and exotic British accent have helped catapult his boy band, Seconds to Juliet, to super-stardom. But after two disastrous and very public breakups, Miles isn't interested in dating just any girl; he wants The One. And the only girl he’s interested in is not only his best friend’s little sisterand off-limitsbut wont even give him the time of day

As a kid, Aimee Bingham had a huge thing for Miles…until he made fun of her for always tagging along. Now that she’s outgrown both him and her pigtails. The prospect of spending two weeks on tour with the childhood crush who broke her heart isn't exactly enticing. Except now Miles seems interested. Very interested. And no matter how hard Aimee tries to resist him, her crush is definitely making a comeback.

But everyone knows that falling for a heartthrob is a backstage pass to heartbreak

Note: Received this in exchange for honest review.

The Dish: Aimee thought she would be spending her spring break with her best friend until the plans changed and she had to spend her weeks on tour with seconds to Juliet, normally this would be a good idea but Aimee has just gotten over her lifelong crush on one of the band members miles Carlisle, who is incidentally a family friend and her brother’s best friend.                                                                                            For two years she has done everything to forget he existed, stopped following news of him and his band and stopped blogging about the fantasy of him, and thanks to her brother she knows miles just thinks of her a little sister.

When Miles sees her after many years a part she’s not what he’s expecting ( their first encounter is funny, he thought she was just some groupie) she’s grown up and looking beautiful, he can’t stop thinking about her even though she’s off limits(a promise he made to her brother) and she seems to hate him, Circumstances brings them together too many times and before they know it they are spending time together and falling for each other fast (for Aimee the feelings never left)

“When he began to play again, then sing those first few words, Aimee felt a flutter in her stomach she wasn't able to squelch. She wasn't a robot, after all. And it wasn't so bizarre to get a little fluttery over a boy as talented and hot as Miles Carlisle. Millions of girls suffered the same ailment. But how many girls stood backstage, close enough that he’d accidentally felt her up in the dark? And how many of those girls had already had their heart broken by him?” “If he couldn't think of anything on his own, he could quote lines from his favorite Prince Song, tell her how his stomach trembled, that she had his butterflies all tied up.But he just kissed her.He might keep kissing her forever, not thinking about the consequences or meaning behind anything. She tasted so good and felt so warm, she filled his head to the brink, and when she shifted closer, his brain emptied, and he went spiraling” “I don’t know if I’d call it a crush,” he finally said. “It’s more like, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you for the past five days. When I’m in a band meeting…” He kissed her eyebrow. “When I’m onstage.” He kissed the bridge of her nose. “When I’m trying to bloody fall asleep at night, that’s the worst. And the best.”

Miles Carlisle-he’s been with girls before but they all end up using him for his fame and breaking his heart. He’s had a hard past, and a bad temper but he’s getting all the help he can and being in the band changed him for good. He still has trust issues (an issue which almost made him lose Aimee
His dream date: a girl who’ll let him wine and dine her.
Turn on’s: genuine smiles and pony tails
This book was so cute and I loved it! I loved getting a backstage pass to the life of a band ,the only thing I didn't like was some of the phrases Aimee used and that at times they seemed older than younger than they really were.
